What we collect
When you contact us by phone, text, email or the request form on this site, we collect the information you choose to give us: your name, phone number, email address, the location of the appointment and a description of what you need. If you become a client, we also keep the records a California notary public is required by law to keep.
What we use it for
To respond to your enquiry, to arrange and carry out the service, to take payment and to keep the records the State of California requires. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone except where it is necessary to deliver the service you asked for (for example, submitting a document to the Secretary of State, or coordinating with your escrow company or translator) or where the law requires it.
Our notary journal
California law requires every notary public to keep a sequential journal of official acts, including the signer's name, the type of document, the date, and a thumbprint for certain real-property documents. These records are kept securely and are released only to the person who signed, or where a court or the Secretary of State lawfully requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to an appointment are deleted when they are no longer needed. Client records and the notary journal are kept for the periods California law requires.
This website
This site does not set advertising cookies and does not track you across other websites. Our hosting provider records standard server information such as IP addresses for security and reliability. The request form sends its contents to us by email and nowhere else.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete anything we are not legally required to keep. Email contact@blacksealmobilenotary.com or call (858) 888-8060.
